Built in Newcastle upon Tyne (Great Britain) in 1912 and christened the SS Lintrose she was sold to the Russian Government in 1915.
She sank in 1916 in Kandalaksha Bay and she was salvaged (refloated) by the EPRON team on 1934.
She was used for scientific research in 1937 in arctic sea and remained stucked in ice during till april 1930 when she was rescued by icebreaker Yermak
She sank in 1941 in the Kara Sea after grounding on a submerged bank.
