It doesn't really matter what calibre it is, it's hand operated wich makes it pretty much useless during the last part of the war.

That's just even more reason to ditch the 30mm guns.

Which will happen when the ship is built. But keep in mind, that`s the original design. A was design that incorporates hard earned war-time experience. This experience involves German long range bomber planes.

Yes? You want high altitude barrage fire to deal with them, not close range anti-kamikaze weapons.

Which is why the ship is the only heavy cruiser to have the high rate of fire 76mm that you find on battleships and battlecruisers. Point defense weapons are also important as it`s not only Kondors that will be attacking, but also smaller planes.
Now you won`t believe how many different superstructure layouts I tested and discarded for both the cruiser and the battleship. Nothing seemed to be a balanced design that I wanted so I settled for a hybrid South Dakota/Iowa/Montana superstructure for the battleship and a Belgrano bridge for the cruiser.
The battleship was a Dano-Swedish proposal for the Ragnarök, but the navy was so impressed by both designs that 5 Ragnaröks and three of the other design were build.
Are there any comments on the designs themselves? Do they look good? How is the patrol cruiser? Is it a viable ship to have? It is meant as a guard ship that has the power to stop cruiser sized vessels should it become necessary.

While the patrol cruiser is purposely built for patrol duty, it frees up the cruiser for other duties, like fleet action. This will certainly be a handy feature in times of war. It should be noted that the battleship has the same guns as the 16 inch gun equipped Thors, and the same 5 inch gus as any other Norse ships, just in new turrets.

While cruiser is also build for patrol duty. In other case you will build a big patrol ship, who will be outclassed by even enemy light cruiser in terms of speed, firepower ect. ?
