Ah yes, we're sending down a frigate that doesn't really work (word of warning: NEVER buy Spanish ships unless you want them to be dockqueens), without a helicopter(!!), commanded by the RNoN's variant of General Melchett. In other words, great success!

I see that you don't know anything about ships!

Now explain me what you mean about why they are so bad. before I write a 100 line text about how wrong you are and that you have to learn that there are more under the table than it seams.

The Norwegian Navy show everything they have above and under the table, But they are not showing you what they have under the other table in the room!

Indeed, we send ther best ships with best crews with best intentions and those "pirates" still working, still highjacking ships. Something is not right in that picture.

Considering that world wide piracy is at it lowest since the end of the cold war I'm not really seeing it.
(The experiences from Somalia has had major effects on piracy in other parts of the world)

What I have read, is that the after effect of warships down there is less pirates out there. But there will always be something there. But hey in the old day's the task for a navy was defending it's country and hunting pirates. So at least I am happy for we have gone back to basic!

The lowest since the end of Cold War ? Maritime piracy is costing the international economy between $7 to $12 billion, per year and you say that this is a calm times ?

No, but I am saying that Piracy in Asia and off West Africa is at it's lowest point ever and piracy off Somalia and in the Indian Ocean is at it's lowest since we started sending ships down there.
The Somalian pirates have made a huge media impact because they've hit western ships.
I'm not saying these are calm times, just that they are calmer than most.
Also, while $12 billion may sound like a lot, they are less than a drop in the bucket in an industry that generates several trillion dollars each year.

Most "pirates" are a couple of men with old AK's and small boat, I say $12 billion a year is amazing thing. One good hit and you have money to the rest of your life, in Africa that is how many ? 30-40 years ?

That this is ridiculous situation. We send a multi billion fleet of high tech ships to fight with some skinnies in fishing boats. And we have not win, gulf of aden is still dangerous place.
