Does this mean they use 6-inch guns? :mrgreen:
I say the number of torpedos depend on what their main mission is. If it uses 6-inch it feels like a hint that they're made to fight of other destroyers/FACs, in which case quads would be a bit redundant. If they're made to take on larger foes, quads would be a good idea. I'd probably opt for tripples, becouse of the weight save.

Nah they won't be armed with 6 in guns; too large to be really effective for a destroyer.

I'm thinking they'll probably use a newer version of the gun that is the secondaries on the C3s or perhaps a 5in gun. Their main role will be to provide a screen for the larger cruisers and to carry out the torpedo strikes as the cruisers do not carry torpedoes. The idea is that the destroyers launch a torpedo wave under covering fire of the C3s then retreat to reload and then strike again to finish off ships and otherwise use their guns to harass the enemy. Sure they will deal with enemy DDs as well when able but that is not their initial design goal.

Well it's been a while in the working but here she is, the SRN Lazarev as she appeared when she went to war on June 1st, 1942, complete with my first attempt at a top view;

I'm still writing up the events leading up to her near loss and her war career so I will update this post once they are complete. I'm pretty sure not everything has been included in this top view but it has most of the important parts shown and I'm happy with how it looks.

Very nice too.If you slew the crane on the portside around to face forward it would look neater without the mass of black pixels obscuring the rear AA guns. :idea:

Good idea. The crane is on a separate layer so that's an easy fix.

EDIT: Crane has been rotated to clear the aft portside AA guns.

Thanks. I'm still not entirely happy with the planes as I had some scaling issues but at least they look more or less as they should. Good comparisions for the size of the ships deck and the relatively small elevators too.

Thanks all. Currently working on the large destroyers so I can get them finished. How does an armament of 6x 4.7in guns in twin turrets with one turret forward and two aft with two triple torpedo launchers mounted on deck pivots on the ships centreline.

I'm still yet to finalise the springsharp report so can't post it yet. No idea what the AA battery should be.
