Here is furutaka as of 1941:

the main reconstruction was completed 2 years earlier, nearly everything was rebuilt back then, the 6 single 20mm guns where replaced by 3 twin 203mm guns, the hull bulged, superstructure and bridge completely redesigned, a new catapult added, fixed torpedo tubes replaced by two quadruple ones with reloads, the airwing updated to two E7K floatplanes (furutakas previously carried a single E4N.

there where not much modifications done on Furutaka by the time of her sinking at Cape Esperance, just the airwing updated to a pair of Aichi E13A .
