The ship should wear the name of a real or fictional hero. Someone who breaks his own barriers for sake of many. There are enough people in our history, no matter of what nation or colour.
My favorite by now is 'Leonidas'. (yes, from the greek epos, not 300, even if 300 is great movie)

Currently my fleet flagship is the (modified) Cavour Class Carrier Majestic/Majestueus, a fine old name. For the most part, however, the fleet follows the old RN habit (now mostly if not completely abandoned) of naming vessels after mythological figures. Also, it is my belief that whenever possible, that ships should be named women, and my names bear these out.
