Okay, I think I'm done here. Not done as in every piece of rigging is complete, but done to a point where you can see what things are for without getting confused. Plus I don't think I really know enough about rigging to complete. I'd have to sail the damn thing to really know...
Still, I've really enjoyed drawing her, and I think I've learned a significant amount about rigging from the process.
She's not perfect, I'll be the first to admit that. But as an example of the era's company packets, I'm quite happy.
Tell me what you think. I'm certainly not beyond improving her.

Thank you :D I added the cutter as well, the 1870 packet. Not sure what to do next. Do I do:
1: An 1890/1900 cutter? I'm thinking of making it a strange mix between a destroyer and one of the royal yachts. Sleek, fast, but slightly fat (for cargo).
2: Something more modern? A WW2 flagship perhaps?
3: A modern day packet? I don't know what this would look like. It'll certainly be an odd ship. Sure, there wont be many of them, but I think some of the uber rich will pay for high speed sea passenger and/or cargo transport...

Anyone got any opinions?

Since I'm a fan of flagships and little else , I think it would be interesting to see one. Methinks you could look a bit on the Dido class, but with three or four turrets instead of five.

This is an interesting problem. On one hand, people demand speed - the low end top speed for the last of the ocean liners was around 20-25 kts with the Blue Ribband holders over 30. On the other hand, container ships tend to be much slower (the 28 kt Mearsk B-class was laid up because they were uneconomical to run). If you want a high-speed hull from a liner, you are going to have a hard time making a go of that hull in cargo service. It might be possible, but it might not be easy. I'd look at some of the last of the combo ships like the Grace Lines ships.

I'm not really sure what you'd carry in such a ship.
If cost isn't an issue then you might as well airlift it most of the way.

I have a feeling that from the 70's the packet service might increasingly be replaced by the GTC's cargo airliners... Which could be entertaining :D
I think they may still run a small number of combi ships, high speed ones. But they're too expensive and slow really...
GTC will modernise or it will die, so modernise it is...
