Do you mean the Ægir? If I think what you think of, it`s a radar/backup director incase something happens to the main directors. Double redundancy.

Here`s the WIP of the battlecruiser with 15 inch guns. The first of the class was commisioned in 1915, the fifth and last in 1917.

Someone's been looking at some 10's Japanese Capital Ships. It's obvious you're progressing Karle, keep it up. Your rudders look a little small though.

It has never occured to me before, to look for some Japanese influence, until now that is. I won`t pick up huge Japanese parts. I will try and blend in some Japanese, some british, some German and perhaps some American design philosophies. Should the newest battlecruiser be longer? It`s currently 209,3 meters long. I want it to be a match for the Admiral and Mackensen class. The belt is enough to stop a 15" shell and the deck is capable of stopping a 11"-12" shell. That will make it one heavy sob.

You can look at my Germania class as that is under 200 meters but is has more guns and amour than the Mackensen class.

The Germania has two wing turrets (en echelon.) That layout can save length, but creates weak points in the armor. Or you could increase the beam, and loose speed. The turrets amidship were never great successes either as the shockwave from the gun could damage equipments nearby. I think I`ll keep it at four turrets for now, it`s as much as the Admiral and Mackensen. If I lengthen the ship, I`ll get more speed, but need more armor which increases the displacement, which lowers speed. It`s an endless spiral. On and on it goes.

Yes they are en echelon but not as much as you think only about 3 meters each side.
Still could be worse.

Worse like the German Nassau class?
