I meant terrier, SM and typhon, mostly, on the guidance. for the CIWS, I believe that was first used around the 1970's, I do not know the time era of this ship..... also wondering if they would use an italian weapon back then.

I am going for the era of MK-10 so around 1960 to 1970'ish era. So what type of CIWS do you think I should go for, or should i just replace the 5" and the 30 mm with 3" L70 twin.

But with this layout I think I have cut down on the top weight issue, but not with so much, she is still like many first missile cruisers and so one, with there top weight issue. But when drawing a personal drawing a ship should have some problems but in the same time be perfect. So what is going to be this ship week link!

BTW. because of here size I think here rector should be a tad more powerful than the D2G reactors.

I have had an Update on the ship!

1. I am not happy with the bridge and command deck, so if you have a ship with a bridge and a command deck that can fit to this ship. .....
2. It's totally 9 Illumination for MK-10 GMLS, a bit overkill, but more eyes on the target is always good!
3. Any suggestion is always welcome...

edit: was my update so awesome that the forum crashed...

Oh if there is nothing else on it. I will start on with a Mk-26 style cruiser.

The Mk-26 cruiser, my question to you:

1. Shall it use the same hull as the Mk-10 cruiser just in a updated form?
2. How many Mk-26, Harpoon canisters, etc. shall it have?
3. Is this the time to start to use Sea Sparrow?
4. Power-plant, gas or still nuclear?
5. Aviation or not? (and what type of aviation?)
6. Style. what vessel shall I use as a help tool?
7. What more?

BTW! bezobrazov, you'r Missoula-Class is so .... It's like a puppy to this ship

You asked, I gave. Food for thought.
  • Updated (and smaller, I want to see you squeeze the most out of a hull form that you can possibly squeeze!
  • Two Mk26 plus a maybe a Mk13 amidships and various Mk141s at least
  • Maybe if it falls into the right time frame
  • COGAG with waste heat turbines
  • A pair of well sized ASW helicopters (Sea Kings maybe?)
  • Be original?

crew, magazine, fuel, electronics, battery bank.... take a lot of space...

  • 2*full size Mk-26.
  • 2*Mk-13.
  • 4*quad Mk-141.
  • Sea sparrow.
  • 2*triple Torpedo tubes.
  • 2*5" gun.
  • CIWS (What type do you boys want).
Is that good enough! For total Superior Escort vessel! :o

At the moment I have a complex machinery,
  • 3*Rolls Royce Olympus (rated at max: 28,000 shp (25,000 shp standard, tot.:84,000 shp (75,000 shp standard).
  • 3*Rolls Royce RM1A (tot.: 12000 shp).
  • 2*steam turbine (1*1500 shp, 1*2000 shp, tot.: 3500 shp).
All High speed slow speed, boost engine are gas/steam/electric-drive. backup and boost:6 small diesel generator build to run on gas!

max engine power (theoretically) (there will be a gearing system from the gas turbine to the shaft for the absolute maximum speed): 99500 (about 105000 with help of diesel generator. If all this can be used to drive the ship forward .... oh shit!

Note!: I forgot to draw in an another set of electric engine. There shall be two electric engine pr. shaft, tot.: four electric engine.

Got it!

how original? my way, or US way!

hull similarity to nuclear cruisers that US build, with a twist? Long hull that is a bit wider than ordinary hulls. max speed to around 30 knots
