Thanks DC1....
My next mission is to update the capital ships pages and the history background. Then I will complete the escorts page and finally go through all the cruisers, which need to be up to standrads, both on quality, sensors and guns.

I have some auxillarys on the drawingboard, just now a AGI Sigint ship. I hav to draw submarines aswell, I am currently planning which types and classes I need.

Finalizing my "battlisho row" with the coastal battlehisp "Riksnyckeln". Built to replace the predreadnoughts and Sveriges which served in the baltic squadrons. After the war they where mothballed but reactivated again during the 60s as amphibius support ships. The cost became to high to maintain the further in the 70s.

Finally! I've been looking forward to seeing this. :D
I think CDSs is one of the more interesting ship types out there. It takes a good effort to design(as hobby) compared to the average battleship. I'm usually not one for the "conventional" 1930s CDS(two twin turrets heavy artillery, moderate speed), but they have a very nice charm to them!

My tactical thoughts around these are that they provide heavy gun support for the charge of light forces (torpedoboats, destroyers).

Do think it could be a wise idea to make an Iowa style upgrade in the early 80ies for these.....fun, no doubt

Only issue I can really see for a "modern" refit would be the extra top weight from the missiles and computer equipment, radars and other sensors that would be essential. Most CDS' were notorious for being unstable in any sea state beyond calm.

A 1980ies refit really wouldn't make sense. She's much to small to accommodate the modern command facilities that was the primary reason why the Iowas were reactivated and being 15 years older her electrical systems will be even more outdated and underpowered.

Oh I just noticed in your drawing between the propeller and the keel there seems to be a stray pink line marking your draught I'm imagining from when you were drawing the underwater hull.
