APAR has 4 side.
example of APAR (there exist better version around on the forum but ...):

SPY-1 has 4 side

Quote:
APAR is a radar that is more advanced than the AN/SPY-1. It is and AESA radar. It is an active phased radar array. The AN/SPY-1 is a passive phased array. The APAR is found on the De Zeven Provincien and the Sachsen.
I disagree with Karl94 comment since this two radar are total different radars and can't be compared.

Hmm.. well then I am not really sure what I can do in this situation. Is SPY-1/APAR neccessary on a destroyer of this role. (Missile platform - land strike/Anti-ship/Anti-Air) Or would the other radars/sensors I have meet the sort of requirements this ship has.

Alright, I have to redesign my radar layout then.

Does the APAR need to be up front or do you think I could put in replacement of the S1850M and a little bit higher up?

- kitbashing: we can clearly see you have taken from various ships. watch out when doing this: first of all not always do artists allow this from AU ships, also you must know what it looks like and, even better, what it is and does.
in this case we can clearly see you did not know what you were doing on above points due to mismatching parts in the structure. lines that do not end where you expect them to, stealth parts fitted to non-stealth parts and mismatching era's of equipment.
that is no real problem, as in, you are here to learn. but putting an ship together like this is not the only thing you should do to learn how all this works.
- because of that, I am not going to point out exactly where you are wrong, but where to look to find to make all this better.
- first of all, choose an nation. I see burke, perry, daring and AU parts. because of that, you have US, dutch, GB and AU weapons and equipment. if you begin it is best to keep it to one ship as base, if not one nation as base, so you can just take the equipment from existing designs and see by that what fits and what not.
- while you have all radars on board (tracking, search, directing and navigation/surface) they do seem not to match era entirely, and they are not always the most current parts or the best fit. also, some of your radars can no longer rotate due to the ships other parts. try to find them.
- why 3-4 Rhibs?
- I am kind of wondering about your powerplant arrangement. CODAG with turbines forward of the VLS and diesels aft?

also, I like to mention the beginners guide for shipbucket I wrote, it mentions everything that I do not mention now because that would take too much time, and more :P

it is not that bad. the internal arrangement works.... mostly. the weapons also, it is the radars, systems and the actual 'making the drawing look good' that give major problems

Hmm, well I have the ship saved in various layouts. I will probably keep my weapon layout, bar the aft Mk.8 Gun. But yea, I am going to completely redraw the radar systems and a fair bit of the superstructure and aesthetic parts.

Edit:

I am rethinking the weapons systems. Would a SeaDart be suitable for this kind of ship?? (I am going to do some extra research into required radars and things like that for the various weapon systems.)

Just do it like this ship if you want APAR. That mean that you don't need to remove the S1850M!!, pleas click the link I have posted below and see hove they have placed those two radars, you will also be able to see what type of electronics you don't need and what you are going to need:

I have looked at that Link. Just wondering is there any alternatives to the APAR? I have looked at APAR and the Proposed APAR (Dutch parts sheet) and I just do not like the looks of them at all.
