DG your works are top-tier, and i personally think that it does not matter how much time you spend drawing them, the results are totally worth of the wait, so no need to be embarassed.

As for the 155 mm guns, both in the IJN parts sheet, the Yamato and Oyodo drawings they are drawn with 4 pixels thick barrels; i remember that there was a thread where i read about usual barrel thickness basis tough, i can't remember what it said about 155 mm guns and where is that thread now, but it's somewhere around the forum, so once i found it or if someone do it before me and it comes out that the barrels are out of specs i will correct them immediately.

good thumbrule for the barrel thickness:
1 pixel (everything under 3 inch)
2 pixels (3-4.5 inch and watercooled Bofors 40mm mounts)
3 pixels (4.7-6 inch)
4 pixels (7-8 inch...)
and beyond that you should be able to use the actuall thickness of the scaled drawings, or follow the logic roughly.

also completed suzuya in 1937:

she differs from Mogami because of her reduced superstructure aft of the bridge and a different boiler room setup, also there was no vent intake between turret 3 and the bridge, another nearly negiglible difference was a slighty different profile near the chrysantemum crest at the bow
