Trojan: the Mogamis were designed around the 155mm triple mounting, but it was decided, I believe in 1938, to retrofit them with the more potent 203mm gun (Note, the early 'A'-class cruisers were armed originally with a 200mm gun; later these ships received the new, slightly longer 203mm gun, and in the case of the Aobas and Furutakas, also new turrets.) - Thus the length between the turret bases forward was never designed to accomodate that longer barrel, hence why the 'B' turret is in an awkward position. These ships were also originally classified as 'B'-class cruisers btw.

Yes, the 8-inch guns are longer than the 6-inch ones, so B (2) turret cannot lower the guns below 12° or they would struck the roof of turret A (1)

And here is the 1938 Mogami, she was still a light cruiser armed with 15 6-inchers back then, but major works where already implemented to correct the stability issues (fiting of bulges mainly, but also modifications on the catapults area and the fitting of a lower mainmast (you will see the difference once i will post the 1935 version of Mogami).

Main guns comes from ALVAMA's Yamato (as the battleship mounted the very same turrets removed from the Mogamis during the CL/CA conversion with minor modifications), but (there is one, sorry Lad  ) they where 6 pixels shorter so i lenghten them to get the proper dimensions; their proportions where correct and the drawing was good, they just lacked some lenght in the back.

You are truly the new King of Shipbucket. Within one month you rank amongst the greatest drawers ever.

Also very nice to see someone who is 100% researcher, drawer, and historian and 0% drama-inciting BS queen, which unfortunately I can never claim to be!!!

Amazing drawing. My only tought is that I think it would look better with three-pixel thickness on the 6in barrels, but that may be just me.

Amazing work! With your quick output it just reminds how slow I am with my work.

I have to comment on the same thing as KHT. The 6 inchers I have used on my cruisers were all three pixels. What is the official shipbucket rule on barrel thickness in this case?
