Again, we don't need a new Harpoon launcher. Let it go.

we could keep the Mk 140 though, although that one is never used on any ships (it is not considered seaworthy, and was only proposed for fitting on semi-covered spaces)

If you are this intent on being accurate down to the centimeter, start your own scale and make your own parts. Leave Shipbucket as it is.

I think I relocated all again to the main file, I think it's fixed now..

If shipbucket is community, some people is a favor and some against to use the part, the moderation will decide it to put it in the part sheet, but still, all user are open to use it or upgrade it..One thing for sure, I will finish my work, then lets see..

I'm making accurate to Shipbucket scale principles, so I just answered you. If you don't defend it, you are against shipbucket concept, and deserve to reflect your words before say it..

As I said before in this post, http://www.shipbucket.com/forums/viewto ... 046#p74046, if isn't to improve the parts and draw, I'm not doing nothing here..As I didn't see any rule by shipbucket forum to ban recreation, I think I'm spend time and drawing skills for the major part of the community yet..
However I'm start fill uncomfortable here with so conservative ideas, but fortunately I was warned to be prepared..

Yup, and all I'm trying to tell you is not to waste your time trying to "improve" all of our work. If everything here is so bad, start your own scale and drawing style and post it somewhere else. This is a place for helpful collaboration, not for someone to come in and change everything to suit their idea of what each system should look like.

The primary purpose should be to draw new ships using the parts we have already created. Where applicable, you can draw your own parts if they haven't been created yet. If you find a part that is thoroughly inaccurate, you should bring it to our attention and we will work for a way to fix it. But redrawing every single part because you are personally unhappy with it is stupid.

There is no specific rule against redrawing parts, but I'll tell you right now that except for the most egregious cases (where the part is clearly out of scale, incorrectly drawn, or missing important details), we will tell you that redrawing it is not worth your time!

I just don't even know how to respond to this! We have our methods of doing things that we have done for quite some time. No one asked you to come here; you came on your own free will, and frankly if you don't like how we are conducting our business here, then you are free to go somewhere else. Don't be the new guy who shows up and starts telling the senior members what to do. You need to first establish yourself as a productive, friendly and useful member before you can start ordering others around.

Glad to see people with an eye for detail but let's not get crazy.

Colosseum..
1st - I appoint 2 parts from 12 parts I insert in the ship, so I not arguing about all parts but the incorrect ones, don't generalize were is not the case. You have good draws and bad ones, fortunately most of than are good.
2nd - I'm not ordering and not telling what to do, is the opposite. I'm here by free will and I'm doing what It seems to me the most adjust. I not inserting the incorrect parts were I justifying why and made a propose of new one.
3rd - Shipbucket has topic actually for redrawing wrong parts, so the discussion will pass there, and not here. This shows how the difference between the community ideas and a user ideas.
4th - Who warned about the conservative ideas and impulsive arguments was users from this forum, so I'm understanding why, and I don't have time and age to listen and discuss eternally with one conservative user.

I hope you understand and don't think I'm against you, is the opposite, I like to discuss but in a constructive way..I see only we have different opinions and don't have anything more to discuss..

Have fun..

mavgaz, let me tell you the following.
the harpoon was updated about half a year ago. this means that the ships that are fixed, drawn or redrawn in the last half year have got that harpoon launcher. everything from before that has the old launcher. we want to replace that part, so in the end all ships should have the new one. this is done by fixing or redrawing the older drawings over time.

but, now the problem. the drawings that have been drawn in the last half year (in my case over 50 already which have harpoon) will not be fixed in the near future, and I hope at least some of them will never be as I consider them perfect. I will not go over them to replace one part, like these harpoon launchers. so that will mean 3 versions of the same system on the bucket. 2 is an stretch already, 3 is way too many.

so, you are free to draw your own harpoon launcher. you are also free to use it on your ship drawings. but do not expect it to be generally used on all ships, hell your ship might not even be uploaded on the main site because of these parts.

this has nothing to do with conservatism or us being hard to newbe's or anything.

so, let me say this. your harpoon launchers need perfecting, and even if you get them perfect, I at least will only accept it as an standard part if you personally track down all updated harpoon ships and fit it in.

that said, when there will become an large number of people, including mods, to support this new part, I will gladly help improving these (and with an team, we might even be able to tackle all the part 'refits' of recent drawings)
