Bill
You beat me to the punch, It was in the Man of War 4 Hunt class, I had lent my copy out, so had to go to the libaray to look at their copy which I have just brought home, Interesting when I was reading Conway 1922-45 they stated that in 1945 Beacon had 2-20mm Singles and 2 single 40mm this certian matchs you photo which has the deck monts for what I suspect are single Mk3 40mm plus the revised ammo lockers that are different to ammo lockers for twin 20mm. the other photos show Brissenden with 4 twin 20mm.

Yes, Man O'War 4; I'd forgotten to check it and there it was. You've got a point re the mounts - they're big for the 20mm, more like a Bofors, but I'll stick with the Oerlikens. I'm onto the Norwegian version of the II, and I will try to get started on the I asap, but I'm snowed under at present.

BTW, how's the cricket.... ;)

Hunt II as modernised for service with the Royal Norweqian Navy. Loaned from 1952, these ships were bought outright in 1956. They were refitted in 1954 to the appearance shown, with twin squid aft, and two single and one twin Bofors. I've done this one now as it will form the basis for a similar (AU) modernisation in RN service, with Type III and Type IV versions:

Thumbs up Bill.
Looks just like the drawing in Friedman's book ;)

Of course its damn great. I didn't expect anything less than great from Bill. Looks just as good as I imagined it would. SB drawings help to flesh out the diagrams in some books. Makes them a bit more realistic.

Aw shucks, thanks guys, and if you'd seen the darwing (as Hood as) its very lacking in the small details; and I got some more information from Conway's, but no drawing there. I was impressed how much more this version improves on the original: twin Squid with reloads, and enough aa to give some protection; it would have been useful in the confined waters around Norway, but by 1965 all of them were dosposed of. I've evn got an Equadorian version in mind; but nest must be the Hunt I.

A possible project for Hunt type I is the former HMS Mendip. this ship was loaned to China as Lin-fu. She was returnen in 1949 and sold to Egypt as Mohammed Ali El Kebir. Later she chaneged names with her sister ship (former HMS Cottesmore) Ibrahim el Awal. In 1956 she was captured by Israeli navy and renamesd Haifa.

That would have to be the most diverse range of navies. I can't promise to do her but anyone else is welcome in the meantime :)
