Yes. It`s quite amazing how ugly it is. I hope the designers live(d) the rest of their lives in shame of what they have done.

Well then I hope you'd grow up and become smarter one day, because what you've just said is ridiculously stupid. This was a unique experimental machine that allowed the Soviets to develop their VTOL technology from ground up. The designers worked hard for years perfecting it and in fact succeeded because the very same design was used in Yak-38 more than 200 of which was built. They are really great people and do not deserve contempt of some kid with questionable taste.
