also, your tier 3 looks like 'playing target' to me, as they don't do anything tier 2 can do, let alone that tier 1 does not cover. and if they cannot operate without the other tiers, they are an waste of money IMO.
This platform will be better equipped to deal with asymetric threats and swarm tactics. Also it is inherently understood that some of these ships will be overwhelmed and sunk. But they are "cheaper" in man-power (loss of life) and actual material cost.

The frigates will concentrate on Anti-Ship/Anti-Small Craft warfare, ASW, and limited anti-air/missile defense, while the bigger cousins will worry about BMD, Anti-Air/ Naval Gun Fire support and Strike missions.

nice pictures are good and all, but I still don't see any flaws adressed on your cannonfodder ship. why use valuable time for making pics of things you will have to change to make it work?

That's like asking HASBRO why they spent hundreds of millions of dollars to make Battleship. I "wasted" my time on it because I could. Because some people look at that picture and think "Oh cool!"

Its not a real ship, its not being used for any kind of structural integrity or damage control simulations. Its not an idea or concept that is being considered by Lockheed or General Dynamics. Its just an illusion.

If I wanted to I could shoot a baby unicorn out of the foward VLS, its NOT real.
