Personally, I like them and I don't have the issue with the SPY-1 + Smart-L that others have. While the SPY-1 can and does to volume search, having the ability to still keep up that search while the SPY-1 is turned off is nice.

With funnels, you are going to have that lovely plume of heat regardless, so I figured by having them angled outwards it might help direct the exhaust away from the electronics.
True, to a degree.
By pointing the funnels outwards like you've done the plumes will be a whole lot more visible.
It's the difference between looking at a flash-light from the side and looking straight into it.

I do recognise some of the superstructure of that frigate. Is it by any chance taken from my unnamed frigate?

a few comments:
- the SPY-1 combined with SMART-L is actually an quite interesting one. it should be possible. I would go then for the smallest SPY-1 variant.
- I would set up the SPY-1 mast a bit larger though, it looks cramped now
- for an ship from 2007 and later, she looks quite unstealthy
- also, what are those ABLS's doing there!
- the aft Mk 41 lacks it's cover.
- of all the places you could stick the diesel exhaust, you sticked here exactly there where the smoke almost always hits the radar?
overall, I like them though, but there is some room for improvement :P

He can go and just pick up the SPY-1 from the Norwegian frigate:

Indirectly. Its taken from my named frigate (Millenium Class), which is based off your unnamed one.

EDIT 1:56PM EST: And I just noticed why you asked. I copied the credits from the Olympia and forgot to include you in there. D'OH

Possibly. I may enlarge it a bit.

Stealth ain't the "end all-be all" of modern naval design. ;)
acelanceloet wrote:

A joint desire to not have big empty spaces and a lack of ideas of what else to put there. I 'justified' it by saying that it frees up space in the VLS for additional ship-killers and SAM's. *shrug*

Didn't want a cover interfering with helo operations, which is why I only put one on the forward VLS.

Any suggestions on a better solution?

for the cover on the VLS: right now you have rain and seawater pooring into it :P you have to either lower it into the deck or mount an cover :P
those ABL's are quite heavy, and will not be good for the ships stability.
the funnels a bit more aft, or through the sides or stern? it is not impossible to set them there (look at the dutch LCF) but as you have quite a bit of freedom on that acount on this ship....
also, I would expect the ship at least burke and M-frigate level stealth :P

I don't comprehend what you are getting at.

well you can see the dark grey part of the VLS mounting, which is an belowdeck part. if that part is visible, that means an part that should be belowdeck or at least covered is above deck :P so, simply making that line one pixel wider at both sides and making it 'structure' grey will do the trick ;)
