I'm almost sure that the one forward on Yamashio Maru would be the depth charge projector, but i could be wrong.

For Shimane Maru, there are no pixel errors for the 25mm guns, they just concide wit the black line for flight deck edge, and the lower openings does not need to be filled, this picture shows them clearly open.

Meanwhile i have finished Shimane Maru, i just left for now an orange strip in order to remember where to place aircrafts, because i have not found anything yet about wich planes she was intended to carry.
:ugeek:
Shimane-Maru intended to operate under Japanese Imperial Army & carry a airwing of 12 Yokosuka K5Y1 Type 93 "Willow" intermediate trainers (usefull for light ASW & early warning/patrol use).

Are you sure? Yamashio was indeed built for the Imperial Japanese Army, but Shimane Maru not i'm almost sure she was built for IJN.

Ok, might have resolved the issue, if combinedfleet is not wrong she was built by IJN to provide escort for IJA (with this sorta of feud between IJN and IJA i'm gonna go crazy).

I have slighty updated both ships in the first page, i should try my hand on the K5Y1 sooner or later and see what comes out so i can add it to the drawing.
