despite considering triple mounts since the late 20's IJN insisted with twin mounts until the mid 30's, Yamato class battleship and Mogami (as a light cruiser, when converted to heavy she got twin mounts) where the first to break this habit.
Still, Agano light cruisers sported twins, as tone CA and even the designed Ibuki CA, triple mounts where seen again on the Oyodo and considered for the B64/65 battleceruisers/cruiser killers but nothing else about IJN triple guns comes to my mind except for ships left on the drawing board in late20's and early 30's.

My design lists her as having six twin turrets. I will have some cruisers with triple mounts, don't worry. This thread is by NO means over and done with.

I was just thinking about why raising all the guns one deck higher, i know it could be to make space for the 25mm machine guns but it could be better to do the opposite, mainly because of topside weight.
Looks nice overall tough.
