Well, it's time to look at how the ships evolved during their years of service.

This is how they looked when they entered service in 1900-1901.

And in tropical livery



After a couple of year of playing around in the ice and under the scorching sun of the Caribbean the admiralty finally tumbled to the idea that providing the watch standers with a modicum of protection might be a good idea, so in late 1902 the bridge was fitted with a canvas enclosure.


In 1907 the ships were further upgraded. The fore spotting top was enclosed in order to protect the lookouts along with the the bridge (Unofficially known as the bread-box) and a stereoscopic rangefinder was fitted amidship.
In order to conserve stability the aft mast was reduced to a simple pole mast.
This is still a WIP and I'd appreciate any input you might have.

Btw, someone posted a wooden deck texture a long time ago. Does anyone still have it? White-painted decks just looks weird.

I believe Tim did, my Protected cruiser has another sort which might fit better as Tim's looks like it fits WW2 carrier decks
