I'd still move the director aft since it'll be easier to get to, have the same field of view and it'll contribute less to topweight.
It'll also be just as damage resistant as the current installation since a hit to the hangar will take out the launcher, which makes the directors redundant.

I'd remove that aft facing director from the mast. It add top weight, as well as stressing the lattice-work of the mast. A better place would be atop the hangar, but there is a director there already. I also at a loss as to the little radome on top of that mast. I would place the big air search radar there, as it will give it a higher position hence a larger horizon.

Since this is an ASW platform, I think having those systems which are for that task would have priority. The air search capability is a definate secondary function.

Alright, I was thinking of ways to use this early-mid 80's frigate design for the follow-on 1991 class. I was thinking replace the Mk.112 with a 16 or 24 cell VLS, replace the BPDMS with a CIWS, and add a 4-cell above deck VLS on each side of the funnel. Updates to the electronics too most likely.

Comments? Suggestions? Convulsive laughter? Open derision?

This is something that I feel exceptionally bad about having missed (as it applies to both this and the earlier version). I'd double the size of the intake area on the side of the funnel, just to make sure you're getting enough air for the turbines.

The ship herself is rather svelte, but I like the way she looks.
