Well, that may be so then, and I stand corrected. I do plan on drawing the Rossiya in one variant with her observation balloons though.

Hi Fred. First; a fine drawing. Second; you're right that HMS Hermes was the first aircraft carrier, but she was the next one to be build (laid down 1917 and service time 1923-1942). Your HMS Hermes is the light cruiser which became refitted to a flight tender as you've drawn. That doesn't change it's a good looking drawing which I'll hope you find the right sources to do the underwater hull :D

Thanks for the input guys. The forward platform was for a Caudron G3, a wheeled aircraft ( & not a beauty to behold). I didnt put it on because my version looks crap. I will lighten the casement areas and fill in the hull form under the forward gun. I have only a pathetic drawing to work from, photos are very few mostly her sinking!

Youboat - Caudron G3 perhaps wasn't the most beautiful airplane in history, but Your drawing of it is certainly great. :)

Fred I think that your Caudron G.3 is good looking, considering how the original aircraft is ugly.

Wow! How did I miss this one? Great job Fred!
BTW, I agree, the shading on the casemates should be turned down a bit.

Hi guys. I have lightened to casements further. Regards the vents running up the funnels, i have them spaced out from the funnel on the Hermes but most are drawn blended with the funnel instead. Is one way preferred?

Thanks
Fred
