so you liked it?
the only thing i did not know about her is the year she was laid dow, so i tried to figured it out giving the pesence of the bofors 40mm cannons (designed in 1936 and in service in 1941 with the US navy)

Heuhen, the springsharp does not show armour in aft conning towers. I suggest you double the armour in front to at least get the weight down(I do this myself). :)
Really cool ship though.

she doesn't have a aft conning tower that is one of the large director/rangefinder.

I was thinking about the small structure that the aft mast is partly integrated in... also, I didn't know if the fact that there was zero aft conning tower armour stemmed from the fact that some people(including me) seems to have a slightly bugged springsharp, or if it was intentional.

KHT: i don't realized neither know if i have that possible bug in my springsharp, that's mainly because i usually build ships with no aft CT.

Heuhen: i forgot to tell you, according to SS she can also work with 4 screws without effecting any other parameter of the report (like speed, strenght and survivability to say some of them..).

there is a difference between a superstructure and a conning tower. mostly in the looks!

That's good to know. I did design her with four, but it looks more correct to have 6. the only down side of 6 shafts is structural integrity.

It's pretty awesome, I have to say, but I'd rearrange the steam launches, since the way you have them, it'd be a hassle to hoist them out at port etc. Also, Heuhen, you do know that you're allowed to repaint them any color you wish? 8-) ;)

Yeah I'd go with four shafts if you can as 6 shafts only really leeds to more issues than it solves (vibration, structural integrity, reduced propeller effectiveness due to proximity and wake turbulence, need for very wide stern which also means greater target for torpedo, etc). I read an article on navweaps.com that quite well explained why not to use 3 and 6 shaft configurations if it can be avoided.

Ah and alright with that role it'd make sense. I also wasn't expecting it to have quite that thick armor either as I first imagined this ship really not fighting herself but relying on her escorts for protection whilst she goes about performing her main role.

I don't have aft conning towers on any of Sierans designs and in fact increasingly the newer designs don't have forward conning towers either that protect from more than shrapnel and small arms fire as the command crews prefer to be seen fighting alongside their men with equal risk (it is a socialist/partial communist country after all which they are a part of). It also means less weight which is often put into the engines considering turbo-electric drive is the favored power plant type.
