Another ecxcellent project. I've long waited for these to grace the boards. Can't wait to see how these progress, the Tosa's wwere certainly among the best looking capital ships ever designed before the 1930s.

Meanwhile here's the updated drawing with added details to the heptapodal mast, boats and 7.7MG; the 80mm guns will wait a bit, i want to discuss the matter about their placement with Colombamike or whoever is inclined to talk about it (see the pic near the bottom of the previous page if interested)

Can't wait until she's finished!

Not really complicated, not really difficult, because the 80mm shell is fairly "lightweight"
(Japanese sailors could easily maneuver the 6-9 kg shells). Look here & here.

Looking at all the Japanese Battleships designs of this era (1917-1922 designs : Nagato, Tosa, Amagi, No. 13 class...... all designed by the very famous Japanese Naval Engineer "Y.Hiraga"). You notice that the AA guns are always on the same deck level...

Allright Colombamike, your argument is perfect and shows a fair and reasonable placement of the 80mm guns, that allows me to overtake the empasse and put them in their possibly definitive position.

Let me know if i've missed something, otherwise she will be just a few steps away from completion.

About Hiraga, what if i also draw his treaty battleship? obviously after finding good sources... who knows

Is it allowed to have guns with 45° barrel angle in SB? I'm new here myself, so I'm just curious. Otherwise, great work.

BB, maybe you need to make the 80mm AA gun at 0° elevation....

The 80mm guns comes from here:

As this is the official parts sheet that things puzzles me a bit, but if someone confirms me that those barrels should be at 0° elevation i will correct them without problems.

barrells are normally at 0° elevation. It could be accepted for small AA guns when the pixels are colliding...
I would prefer the 80 mm horizontal but in this case we are on the border line.
