Technically this could go in the Real Designs section, since the keel was actually laid down, but references on how she would have actually looked when finished are vague enough that I think it would be better to have it here instead.

I based my drawing on the John Isherwood profile which is one of the most common depictions of what she would look like. I'm also planning to do an AH version from the novel "One Final Voyage" which has her maiden voyage in 1937, several years later than planned and with several modifications including catapults for mail planes.

You need to draw the stern's hull upper edges on black not greenish brown. Same goes for the hull portholes, not grey surroundings, but black.
Also the hull shading could be done in more standardised way...

otherwise great work. It must have taken long time to drawn...

Yay, the never-built OCEANIC! Very nice. For drawings and info on this and other never built liners, you can also consult Williams & Kerbrech's "Damned by destiny" (ISBN 0903662094), a must-have if you are interested in this subject. I have a copy at home. If you're after any specific stuff, let me know and I can scan it for you (will take a while to complete though).

Got a copy of Damned a few weeks ago. Full of possible subjects. The various US designs from the Boston up to the Leviathan 2 & 3 are especially interesting. How's this look? Changed some of the shading colors to conform to the rules, changed the railing aft. I had it that brown color to show a wooden rail top along the bulwark aft. Changed the portholes and hull details to black and darkened the base colors on the black part of the hull.

Amazing work. I wouldn't even think of starting something like this, I'd go nuts...

CanisD,
I love your work. :) The third Oceanic would have been great ship if White Star had done her. But don't you think her lifeboat davits are somewhat old? Because I saw davits on Queen Mary, Normandie, or earlier Bremen and Europa and they all have new type of lifeboat davits...
