Youboat, no, your underwater hull is still not correct. The aft section doesn't feature the typical flutes along the upper edges of the propeller shaft line, beneath the CWL. Take a look, a closer look at Colo's magnificent Cleveland and you'll see what I'm referring too. Also the tail-end of the aft floatplane should angle sharply up, not that rounded edging you have. All fairly typical American design traits at the time, with regards to cruiser design - and this is a cruiser hull.

Bezo, the problem here is that he unfortunately worked from one of the earlier drawings of the Cleveland class which was floating around until Tim updated the US folder. The original Cleveland drawing had a hull that was regrettably traced from a blueprints.com drawing in 2008, hence the inaccuracies.

Colo, I understand that now. Makes it even stranger then that he's not using your terrific hull to get it right. You know I wholly approve your Cleveland, believing it to be the most accurate hence. Now, would Youboat be allowed to use that hull? That's your concern whether to agree to that or not. I hope, though, you'll give him a fair shot at it - if he chooses to take it!

Yes, of course he can. I've offered for his use already anyway. :)

I don't consider underwater hulls to be "creditable" so it's really no big deal.

Ok, so this is Colo's hull under it. Now do the bulges blend into the line indicated or cover it merging onto the stabilizers?

It goes all the way down, to the bottom edge of the fins, I e, the stab. fins are actually placed (replaced) on the lower edge of the bulge. Is this helpful?

I would also replace the strangely rounded lower bow with the sharper (and more accurate) version from the Clevelands.

Also, the title needs to say:

USA, Independence Class
USS Ship Name, CVL-22 (Date)

If you are not drawing a specific ship of the class (which you should be doing to be honest), just label it USA, Independence Class.

Added the bulge lines and dropped the stabs 2 pixels. 40 barrels blackened, & directors changed.
