I can send you some nice scans of the drawings in Friedman's Carriers if you'd like. When I was researching these ships it was clear to me that the Squadron drawings were done from the Friedman's references, so if that's what you used then it should be more or less on the money.

Just comparing it to my Cleveland hull, it seems mostly correct scale-wise. Nice work.
I have had most of Friedman's books but not the carrier one. Squadron are iffy regards any drawings, but its far nicer than the other one i have. Scans would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Fred

The drawing Colombamike/Novice linked is the best one available for the baseline CVL in Friedman's. Be advised that it's the 1952 configuration, and while from my once-over-lightly inspection seems the same as wartime, I'm not 100% sure. Definitely something worth checking!

Version 2
The squadron drawing was good length wise but very stretched in height, i could not use much of version 1.

Sorry but are the propellers a little small for the size of this ship?

You seem to be doing a fine job, but why have you corrupted Colosseum's outstanding underwater hull? It should correspond to the Clevelands in all essentials, except the necessary bulge. The stern is something that I would like you to look more closely at, as well as the very odd looking stabilisator fin at the lower (trailing-) edge of the bulge. As for Cruel2BEKind's question: no, they are the size they ought to be. I trust Colo's research on that matter completely!

Hull updated with aspects of Colosseum's hull. The water line is the correct range for 20' to 25'. I would expect that Colosseum also used Baker's drawing as well. I have noticed that many drawings by the same artist do not necessarily match.

The Clevelands were drawn using the Friedman's drawings as reference. I'm not sure if Baker or the other guy drew the Clevelands, but I do remember having to do a lot of extra work on the Clevelands since some of the drawings are mislabeled and no date range was given. I did find some original yard plans for the USS Astoria CL-90 right as I finished drawing the ships I wanted to in the class (Cleveland in '42 configuration, Houston, and Astoria), but upon comparing the yard plans with my drawings there were very few discrepancies which I then corrected.

You need to color the gun barrels black in adherence with Shipbucket style.

The propellers were sized according to the yard plans and are correct. The ones you are using now are an abomination and need to be removed from the parts sheets so no more artists use them. Also be advised that any drawings of Cleveland other than these three are incorrect and should not be used. I notice that you have used the hull from my 2008 Cleveland which was totally inaccurate.

The three correct Clevelands:

You are also using the outdated Mk.51. New one is below (since Tim is too busy banning people to update the parts sheets, and yes I will continue to give him shit about this until he follows up on this, just as you people gave me shit when I didn't upload drawings to the site on time...):

You are using the incorrect SG radar, new one in this sheet: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16140164/Drawin ... nation.png

And here are some misc parts that might help:

Good luck and feel free to contact me with questions.

PS: I lost the Friedman's scans unfortunately.

Love you too Colo.

Edit: I was also under the impression that you were the one keeping the WW2 stuff updated.
