Looks like a good start.

I'd have to check my sources for accuracy, but may I ask what sources you used and which version of the Cleveland hull that you used?

Wow! That looks great! Now you need to find some sources for the underwater hull :)

The Independence Class CVLs were Cleveland class Light Cruisers that were modified while under construction (all of the Keels were laid down as cruisers - the later Saipan class were laid down as carriers, but were also based on a cruiser hull*).

*The Saipans used the Baltimore hull and machinery sets as a base.

I used a squadron drawing which looks early, say Princeton or Inde after swapping the 5"ers.

It's an impressive start.
Not so sure about the dark grey vents admidships, really they should be outlined and look more like vents than dark grey rectangles. Overall though it looks good.

Impressive start, and it shows a lot of promise.
Adding my comment to the ones above may I suggest you use this image for a top view as is now customary for carriers and this one for a port side view and last for the underwater part of the hull

I attempted the CVLs but quickly gave up after realizing that I literally hate aircraft carriers for whatever reason.

I can send you some nice scans of the drawings in Friedman's Carriers if you'd like. When I was researching these ships it was clear to me that the Squadron drawings were done from the Friedman's references, so if that's what you used then it should be more or less on the money.

Just comparing it to my Cleveland hull, it seems mostly correct scale-wise. Nice work.
