There has certainly been many ideas and concepts of what the Flight III DDG-51 is going to be like. Some are bigger with new radars. After seing this thread: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=3357 it is shown that the Flight III is merely a Flight IIA with an extra structure on top of the bridge for the AMDR radar. With that in mind, I have made the Flight III from Mihoshik`s Flight IIA drawing. Had to update some parts make the ship up to date in the modern standards and add the extra structure with the AMDR. I tried my best to do as much as possible from the video and pictures available.

I have taken some details from that drawing. Don`t know if it`s enough to credit him. Which parts needs updating? I can`t find a newer version of the 5"/62 Mark 45 Mod 4. The directors should be the newest. The Seahawk is updated as far as I know.

RHIB's, colour of the SPY-1, TACAN (this one from the spruance drawings) and have you taken the VLS from the belowdeck parts thread.....
also, I note now, the platform on top of the bridge needs some more detail on the shape.

that is the main stuff I remember right now, might be more.

Where can I find the updated colors for the SPY-1? What`s wrong with the belowdeck Mk 41 VLS? What sort of shaping details do you have in mind for the added structure?

updated colours: vossiej's flight 1.
there is nothing wrong with the belowdeck Mk 41, actually you should use that one, as the distance between the hatches is slightly different from the old version. what you should keep in mind though is that what you see in the belowdeck thread is not what you see when it is fitted on a ship, the dark grey edge is hidden behind an cover or behind plating.

for that platform: look at how it's shaped here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/63276563/Burke ... III/13.PNG and here https://dl.dropbox.com/u/63276563/Burke ... 0III/5.PNG
it is angled the same as the structure, so not vertical, and has 'cut' corners.
(also, isn't there an better 5 inch available? looking at the renders this 'stealth mount' is all wrong, and I have seen an better one somewhere.......)
EDIT: and an last minute note: I think vossiej's lighter air intake panels look better then these 'dark' ones.

The colors for the SPY-1 and the air intakes are from Vossiej`s USS Cole. The platform has been given extra detailing.

http://www.shipbucket.com/forums/viewto ... =12&t=2659 that was shipdude.
but, it looks kind of good now.... I see some small flaws but I personally was waiting for better concept art of the stern to maybe do her myself..... so no need to check to thoroughly right now, IMO.
