Interesting beginning. :)
With it's size it will be something like mini-Kitty Hawk, so the air group size seems basically ok.

Fair enough, I like the idea behind it :)
Re gun mounts, I'd say the 4.5in MkVI mount would be a more suitable one for the era - http://www.shipbucket.com/forums/viewto ... ?f=16&t=65 (the one right in the middle). The installation wouldn't be as elegant as your current setup up but it should be more capable ;)

Interesting start. I can't wait to see the finished product. And I agree with Rowdy. The 4.5" Mark VI would probably be a better choice for gun armament given the era the ship was built in.

Wouldn't the Mk. VI be too heavy to be sponsoned out on either side of the flight deck like that though? That was pretty much I concern for that, anyhow, but I just now looked at the "never-built" Malta and saw they have what looks like Mk.VI's, even though on the NavWeaps site they call them Mk.VII's which were a development of the VI especially for the Malta.

I guess that could work.

Zephyr I would either use the gun mounts for the AMerican 76mm used on the HMS Eagle, the british 3in/70 or the AMerican 3in/50RF Marks 27/33/34 and if possibly with modified sponsons the 4.5in. model described with Rowdy, the 3in/70RF Mark 37 or 5in/54 Mark 16 these latter three may be too large though
glad to see your back to drawing :)

Been playing with the 4.5 Mk VI's, and they don't look as bad as I feared.

Use whatever you need Zephyr. The hardest part I can see are going to be the sponsons holding up that massive flight deck overhang.Maybe better to slim the flight deck down a bit.
