Latest in this series; the earliest Type 12, HMS Whitby, as built

Overall it looks good, but I have to say the Bofors is dragging it down. It just seems crude compared to the rest of the drawing.

Looks good.

The STAAG doesn't look quite as good as the current one on the parts sheet but I'm open to revised bits. I agree it needs a little something though.

A gem of a drawing Bill, but I believe HMS Whitby was completed with the 21" ASW torpedo tubes known as 'Bidder'. One twin revolving mounting and four single tubes fixed at an angle.

Minor nit pick sorry Bill. You seem to have a different shade of grey around the hull pennant and just above the boat pole. ;)

No problem, a bit of a cock up on the quality control front

Yes, and same from Hood; for some reason I was copying a version from another drawing; whereas there is perfectly servicable one already - so I'll swap it :)

I've checked my sources (Marriot & Freedman), and the Whitby and Torquay never received the torpedo tubes; and as we know the ones that did had them removed, and though there aren't many photo's of the early commisoned Whitby, non show her with the tubes :)
