Whats the story behind the somewhat interesting illustration of the 3 inch gun?

Anyways these are just marvelous addition to the ever increasing gallery of British carriers. I just wish someone would take the US carriers into similar "care"

PS: The 3 inch tube should be drawn in 2 pixels, not with three

The story of these gun mounts is (in the real life) that the british have choosen an american twin mount (MK33 ?) but with a home (!) made protection.

this consist in a "half" turret with a metalic part and "canvas" top and side, this turret is unique and only used on the Victorious:

At the beginning, when I drew the VIC i only have a front view of the turret, so i drew it viewed from the front , as found in the original drawing:

and with more photographic and drawings reference, i try to drawn it - it is like it is now...
this turret is very curious in shape and it is difficult to reproduce it correctly.

PS: i will change the 3 pixels barrel ASAP ( i was a litlle too enthusiastic )
