The quad 2 pounder hadn't been designed yet and the octuple was too heavy to fit onboard. That's why I suggested twins and singles.

Thiel I agree with you but Oerlikon IIRC was invented in 1919
You're twenty years early. The design dates back to 1934, but the hun that saw service during WWII wasn't designed until 1939.

Edit: As bo additional note, the Bofors didn't enter service in Britain until 1941.
Thiel you are quite right about that I meant the Oerlikon as in its earliest development which was the Becker Cannon essentially and its developments throughout the twenties not the version most commonly used in World War 2 I should have been clearer and if I am wrong about the development of the Oerlikon feel free to say so
edit: I see that SrGopher Already made a similar statement which you replied to

I've since put all of my time into the Pacifican Fleet, and at this point, the Centennial Fleet is on the backburner. A loose background of the USP:

The United States of the Pacific was the result of the Spanish-American War. The nation is located on an island in the Pacific parallel to much of the continental United States, and about as wide as Texas, and was first discovered, and settled by, Spanish conquistadors during the Age of Exploration, known primarily as Puerto Oeste. The island is separated from the Continental United States by less than 600 miles of ocean, and from Hawaii by less than 200 miles. It remained a Spanish colony for a long time, and by the time of its independence from Spain during the Spanish-American War, it had great influences made by American culture. The United States took control of the Philippines, Guam, Puerto Oeste, and in this AU, the Canary Islands and Cuba. This gave the United States a global expanse, although many in Puerto Oeste, the Philippines, and the Canary Islands were opposed to remaining under American control. The Philippines began an armed resistance, but Puerto Oeste and the Canary Islands took up a diplomatic approach. As the Philippines remained a battleground, both Puerto Oeste and the Canary Islands succeeded in working out a treaty that allowed for their independence, but while holding strong diplomatic ties to the USA, as well as allowing the establishment of American military bases in their borders. The new nation's society was basedThus was the birth of the United States of the Pacific, which does include the Canary Islands. The US Navy established 3 bases adjacent to the 3 major harbors bases on the mainland of the United States of the Pacific. These were extensively, and repeatedly refitted in order to provide stopover points for repairs, refueling, and training. A single base was shared with the United States of the Pacific in the Canary Islands, although it was not always used, and eventually, full control of the base was given to the USP. The Pacifican Fleet started off scavenging from ocean-worthy civilian vessels and a small number of ex-foreign combatants. Most of the first ~10 years of the nation's existence went to the expansion of its infrastructure. The US Navy provided much of the USP's naval power for much of that time, leasing the services of 2 battleships and a number of smaller ships to patrol the waters around the USP. The US Navy had most of the ships based in the USP performing patrols for the underequipped Pacificans. WWI saw the allocated budget of the Navy finally being fulfilled as it acquired modern vessels to operate from its modernized bases. The first major combatant operated by the USP was a new British C-class cruiser HMS Carysfort. The cruiser was sold to the USP after many pleas for a major vessel to operate from the Canary Islands. Before being transferred, the ship underwent refitting in the United Kingdom, before officially transferred to the USP and being named after the state it was acquired to protect. The cruiser was at first augmented by a pair of A-class destroyers, of which 5 were acquired early on as the largest combatants in the Pacfican Navy. These served to patrol the waters around the Canary Islands during WWI. Immediately after the war’s end, the Pacifican Navy still had a sizeable enough budget to take over the contracts for the 3 cancelled Admiral class battlecruisers, as well as 4 cancelled D class cruisers and the cancelled HMS Euphrates, and new flotillas of destroyers. The Acquisition of the new vessels prompted the rearrangement of the fleet into a battle fleet, and a patrol fleet. This was the start of the world-class Pacifican Navy.
