take a look at these and other real life and never build designs and see for yourself (seems a bit harsh from me, but by doing this you learn from real ships instead of from us, what will help you a lot in the future)

ok so does anyone else think I need to redo my hull? I mean I get what you mean to say but I just want others opinions.

If Ace... say so it is so. You know he is doing some boatish design in the real world to IF he is finish at school yet "hahaha"


I am more like a hobby ship-engineer, And my experience says that that boat is not a boat.

Corvette: (around 50-80 meter) (Not the Skjold class of Norway is called a coastal Corvette, because its weapon payload is the same as on a frigate, but they are only a very very fast missile patrol boat!)

frigate (about. 100-130 meter) (but here can also the weapons payload say something. for example Oslo class is only about 96 meter long but has a weapon payload so big that we in Norway call them for a frigate!)

Destroyers: (140/150++meters)

Cruisers: (Depends on what is build for but are usual over 160/170+++meter. this boats us to have a the most complete systems since there are more place in those hulls)

I agree with HueHen and Ace. It would probably be best to scrap this one and start over than to rework this one, just keep in mind what I said on page 1, purpose of vessel, era, systems, take inspiration from similar vessels, then start drawing.
BTW, don't take any advice from people on NS, some of them can be reliable, but those people are very few and far between. If you want to make plausible, credible desings, you are in the right place at SB.

DSR - That basically all of Your ship needs to be scrapped, including hull, isn't "just Acelanceloet's" opinion. First of all, Acelanceloet has a professional knowledge about the subject, secondly his opinion is shared by a plurality here.
I understand that it's hard to read a damning opinion about something to which You devoted significant amount of time (esp. at that age), but unfortunately no other answer could be seriously given to You in this circumstances.
You've been given a really good advice so far and if You stick to it, You should be able to make in the end a really decent design, and that's something I wish You wholeheartedly.

Thank you. I will take all advice into account and will restart. I'm sorry if I sounded snotty or something I was just wondering if that was the best option. I should have a redone ship completed in a few days.

take your time. look at real ships. and try to listen as less as possible to people on nationstates. those are the three best advices I can give at this moment

ok and I just was wondering, have you made any 17th or 18th century ships? preferably warships?

there are some, for example the brig of war irene, the VOC ship batavia and the ship of the line koning der nederlanden in the dutch section of the archive, but not many....

HMS Victory, Danmark, HMS Alert, HMS Little Belt, those are the only ones I can think of at the moment, but sailing ships are difficult to draw.
