And you are sure that "your" Yamato is good ? It's not picture, not a 'yard plans just other drawing.

Yes generally thread necromancing is bit no-no everywhere in internet, including here, but to do so to superficially claim something done by one of our better artist as "incorrect" without anything more spesific evidence/points/remarks beguns to close down to banhammer time.

is not a Yamato

there is some errors
look here and compare

work is good, that is right, but not like original
actually....
the yamato in the drawing you linked is more likely to have errors then ALVAMA's drawing.

guns of 127 - two types in reality - not only one like on drawing

portholes in armor 410 mm- yeah :D:D:D such very nice error - many people who don't know the shipbuilding do this nice error

keel against the roll - it start nearly begins around 75-80 frames - here about 105
the size of a chimney - far from the original
size of 155 mm artillery - far from the original
shape, size, the location of the mast and radar - far from the original
liaison between the chimney and the superstructure - the size is above the scale
the location heading 127 mm - half of them are not in places
total length is not to scale - Yamato was 263 meters loverall length, not 276 m
my sources - Dickinson, Skulski - 3 study, quite grandly collection Gekken and more to 30 years of love to YAmato
:)

Yamato pic that you link have also portholes. In that case, show us pic where Yamato don't have portholes please.

EDIT: this is the pic from the most accurate Yamato model ever build from "Yamato Museum" in Kure

Portholes are there as you can see.

TeJotGie, I have really no reason to thrust somebody who makes his first posts on the bucket like this. but, you could be right, so I would say we let ALVAMA answer you himself ;)

?? You see portholes in armor with 410 mm thick steel ?? please ... don't make me laught today, I have much jet :D:D:D

- and is probably sufficient to show that there are bugs and it is great - if you want to know, model of Yamato in Kure in 80% has made from the drawings made by Janusz Skulski
There are two types of 127 mm guns on the Yamato - shown in your picture - the picture they do not exist (not even similar to the original)
[ img ]

see here - http://www.battleshipyamato.info/ - for example
and look carefull - who have rights ?? one drawing with errors or Janusz Skulski (his last article in a Polish magazine has destroyed one of the most praised Yamato models, showing all the errors), one of the most successful authors of a book on the Yamato, which for many is the most reliable source of knowledge

or doing anything like this has to be according to truth, or rather how not to do nothing

Considering the fact that the IJN destroyed most of the original yard plans for Yamato, I'm not going to make a judgment call over who's "right".

That said, if this dialogue leads to a reconsideration of the Yamato drawing in the archive (and perhaps a perfection of said drawing), then I'm alright with people making suggestions. Reading through the first part of the thread, there were no corrections suggested since most people are just awed by ALVAMA's skill. We must remember that it's the duty of the community to ensure that posted drawings adhere to our standards... and those standards aren't just styling and coloring standards, but also accuracy standards. ;)

The new guy's brusque manner looks like it's due to Google translate, but please, let's remember to always keep it civil.

Well I'm sorry, but this is an English language forum. You must use English to communicate with us and leave the stupid comments about other languages being "better" at the door.

Are you actually trying to help ALVAMA improve his drawing or are you just posting negative comments to demean his work? Your manner is rude and arrogant and not helpful in the slightest. Please make an effort to be a bit nicer and people will be a lot more friendly towards you and accepting of your criticism. If you work WITH Alvama, rather than AGAINST him, this drawing can be improved for the better.
