Shipbucket

SMS Chamäleon built in 1914 was the most advanced minelayer of the K.u.K. Kriegsmarine. She was meant to set minefields along enemy coast so the designers payed special attention to her speed (over 20 knots) and the low profile. She carried 300 mines and was armed with four 90mm guns, two of which were AA.
In 1920 the ship was transferred to Great Britain and sold for scrap later on.

Very nice drawing. Its interesting that she was captured in 1920, two years after the end of WW1.

I can only add my own appreciation Again, another demonstration, that there is (still) a vast range of unrepresented ships out there.

Charybdis: what WhyMe was trying to say, but using the wrong verb, was that the ship was allocated to Great Britain as war reparation, in 1920, after the signing of the Peace at Trianon, which dealt with the remains of former Austria-Hungary. She most certainly wasn't captured in any traditional sense! - which, coincidentally highlights the truly tragic circumstances regarding the dispersal of the KuK fleet, a fleet, which in size and professionalism was as good or better than most European navies!
