SMS Chamäleon built in 1914 was the most advanced minelayer of the K.u.K. Kriegsmarine. She was meant to set minefields along enemy coast so the designers payed special attention to her speed (over 20 knots) and the low profile. She carried 300 mines and was armed with four 90mm guns, two of which were AA.
In 1920 the ship was transferred to Great Britain and sold for scrap later on.
