Awesome drawing of the Lancaster! Definitely the Brits' best bomber of WWII.

Nice one; amazing though, that like the Space Shuttle, these machines are now static displays in museums :(
Thanks, yes it is a shame that even though it may not have been a particularly good commercial success, it would've been nice if one had been kept airworthy for displays. I remember seeing one near Heathrow after take off many years ago, and what a sight it was! I've not been to Duxford for a while, so I may go up there soon to go in the prototype Concorde they have there again. FD Shuttle anyone?

First class work IJ.Very nicely done mate.
Thank you very much :D

Lovely Lancaster, Darth. Only a few weeks ago I saw the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flying very low over my house and at Southend Airshow. You can't beat the roar of the Rolls Royce Merlin engines!

You forget all the work that the Halifax and Mosquito did, the Lancaster was hardly the "best" but one of many.

The Halifax and Mosquito were definitely great bombers, but I still think the Lancaster was the best. It was certainly the most versatile, otherwise they wouldn't have chosen it to be modified to carry so many unique and interesting weapons.

I patiently await the Bristol Blenheim & Bulldog, as well as the F4U Corsair & Seversky P-35, Republic P-43 Lancer. I am working on an unsung hero of WW2, the PZL.11c fighter
