could you give me the description of the book of those 'outriggers'? because right now, you have nothing that follows the regular definition of both pods nor outriggers

Yeah, those pods are going to create a LOT of drag. They need to be a lot more hydrodynamic than that to improve water flow over the propellers. I think that's the biggest of the many problems with this design.

I am wondering.... that explanation can be taken as regular azipods too. more logical too, as these create more drag then they are worth. also, try docking this thing with that setup. indeed, impossible. so if this ship is an monohull ship, just move the thrusters to the stern.

I would assume that means that they jut out the side, however azipods would make more sense

no. just no. the author has definitely not an single grasp of how ship design works. NONE at all. I mean, compared to this, the own-designed ships clancy or cussler sometimes use in their books are quite plausible -.- may I suggest finishing only the 'this would work' version of the ship?

yah, thats probably the way this will go

which way should the azipods face?

or

look at real ships for all underwater parts (mostly in the archive)
but for this, prop forward. why? because then the prop moves water which is still in laminar stream = more effect.
