I know the radars are wrong, I don't know what to do with the guns, those are millenium guns in the picture I thought that phalanx would not fit with the "stealth" feel, I don't know what a clipper bow looks like, disregard the well deck, its only mentioned once if the whole series and they never make use of it.

As for the propulsion, there is are Gas turbine generators in the engine room amidships, which power massive electric motors in the outriggers, thereby eliminating any need for complex mechanical drive mechanisms.

and with all the above in mind only, the ship is indeed not making that much sense....
I mean, 2*76mm oto melara on an USN ship? and one with the weapons of an CSGN nonetheless?
Thats normal Ace' there is a pretty good comment: Cobb shows his ignorance of Navy terminology and a bit sloppy with his details. This ship will need a lots of work to start being stealth. First, maybe we will delete that something with propeller. That thing will make souch noise that old drunk russian sonar opeartor on Kamchatka will hear it moving from port of San Francisco. ;)

EDIT: thats a clipper bow:

I suppose this well dekc is in effect an RHIB bay or something like that, which sounds more logical. if they say phalanx, you'd best use phalanx, otherwise they would have named it CIWS (if you want to make the ship from the book, that is)
an clipper bow is... well more like that of the burke, or of the dutch LCS.

and I want to facepalm to that engine setup.

ok, so there are two directions I'd like to go with this the first , as realisitc as possible(stealth and all that), adn the other to get as close to the book as possible

and, this is my original design:

No black lines should be thicker than one pixel.

I almost know it that someone will pull out that. Harrington and her flying dil... I know that series and with all my power try to avoid it, I'm old guard ... woman on board is a bad luck, woman who command ship is such terrifying thing that I will wake up with scream if I ever dream about that situation.

But back to action, lets wait for some description about that destroyer, for now we know only that she is super-mega-oh-ah stealth ship.

I am not seeing how that would make it less complicated. What if one (or both) of the electric motors is damaged underway? (As it is in a vulnerable position, jutting out like that.) How exactly does one get down and fix it? If you already have space for turbines inside the hull, why not use a more conventional setup. As is, you're putting a lot of unneccesary strain on the hull.
Also, as Rhade said, that setup is the opposite of stealth.
