I love the first type of summer. It happens more often in the northern part.

Well, it's certainly hot enough here in Michigan, you can take some of our heat if you want.
We broke some records this year, 90 degrees Farenheit in April. :? May was polite and cooled down though.

Here in Georgia the temps haven't been quite so horrific as yet, mostly mid 80's (about 30c), but the humidity has been at a level where you can darn near jump up and swim where you are going. By July or August they are predicting record heat, which coupled with the humidity will make this one nasty summer. I believe when DragonCon rolls around the first weekend in September I may well just go with t-shirt and jeans most of the time and not do as much costuming as I normally do.

Bah! British summer weather? Whats wrong with a bit, well, a lot, of persistant rain? If it wasn't for the climate we'd never have had the Empire or the Founding Fathers, to name a couple. I mean, why do you think we had, and have, such an urge to go abroad? Now we just get a lot of obnoxious tourists annoying the locals, getting drunk and surnburnt; while those of us of a more stoical nature embrace the climate. I mean, myself and LP even go looking for it, we go up to Scotland for our summer break and don't feel we've been on holiday until we are wringing out a wet springer spaniel.
