If anyone know how a British Army Company or Regiment organization look like, please give me a call.
I know from the Regulations of field forces South Africa that during the Zulu war a ideal Infantry Battalion have:
30 officers and 866 other ranks and company has 3 officers and 107 other ranks, but there is no information about how many NCO is within the other ranks.
I looked up in some books and and in the internet but I couldn't find accurate informations about the organization of a victorian company of the line (I also couldn't find accurate informations about the napoleonic wars aera).
I found this in the internet about the napoleanic wars aera. :
Each of the eight center companies was divided into 2 half-companies.
Theoretically the company consisted of:
- 3 officers (incl. 1 captain)
- 5 NCOs (2 sergeants and 3 corporals)
- 1 drummer (and sometimes 1 fifer)
- 85-100 privates (in Foot Guard more).
The British field battalion had ten companies: one light, one grenadier and eight centre. The Light and Grenadier Company drummers formed behind their own company, but their battalion company comrades were grouped behind the 2nd and 7th Companies. The battalion Colors were placed between the 4th and 5th Company.

About the british during the american revolutionary war I found this chart on the homepage of the US Army:

Then I could find this book on the internet about the british army during the victorian age:

I also searched in some osprey books but couldn't find any worthful information, but I guess, that your zulu war company could theoretically be organized like this:
- 1 x captain, 1 x lieutenant, 1 x 2nd lieutenant, 1 x colour sergeant, 4 x sergeants, 5 x corporals, 2 x drummers and 95 x soldiers.
In reality the infantery units were allways unterstrengthed. During that time the infantry battalions were made from 8 companies of line and some other stuff like staff, band etc..
