I've search all over the net for information for some RN vessels.
First one - HMS Safeguard - confuses me. Because she have a circular badge which indicates she have been a ship. But the vessel I've found was from late 18th century (long before ship badges became in use!). All other infos says that HMS Safeguard is a shore establishment. In that case the badge ought to be offset square (which it isn't!)! Anyone with more info?

I got also thre Falkland Islands Patrol Vessels (HMS Protector, Guardian and Sentinel ). I've found out that before becoming FIPV's they were MV Seaforth Saga, Seaforth Champion and Seaforth Warrior (the last was maybe MV Edda Sun before that) but the infos are very sparesome. Also what happened to Protector and Sentinel after they where sold. Do any of you have any infos about them?

From 1975(?) to 1986 there was a patrol boat HMS Vigilant where she was renamed (HMS or MV?) Meavy. That's all I could find and it isn't good enough for me. Do anyone have more detailed informations?
 :?

Hi
I'm new to the forums, i'll go to the introduce yourself page shortly. but firstly I have to come here while i remember!
I served on HMS PROTECTOR and was on the crew when we brought it home to portsmouth. I can't remember if that was the one that was kept in clyde for a while but it does ring bells.
