SS United States. While most of
SS America's Service life was post war, she was built pre-war. That list also discounts ships that were either built as or partially built as troop transports in WW2. It also discounts
SS Santa Magdalaena,
SS Santa Mariana,
SS Santa Maria,
SS Santa Mercedes, and
NS Savannah which were all built with passengers in mind, but were primarily cargo ships.
