Yes, you could have the system create a new database entry for each ship relatively easily. It would mean a LOT of work putting all the old ships into entries but it is doable.

Well if someone wants to do it, I eont object. Then we could start try and figure out some sort of new type of quality control so not just anything gets put there. But lets see how this part sheet thing works first and then if its succesfull we might consider expanding the project.

I imagine it wouldn't be very difficult to implement a user-submissions thing. Then an admin would see a list of drawings which he could go through and "approve", once done they would be automatically uploaded.

something like that would be ideal. It would put the burden of the work to the artists and retain only the quality control in the administration.

Yeah. I figure they can submit the drawing along with a name for it and choose the nationality from a dropdown list. During admin approval, you can change the filename because they'll inevitably do it wrong and approve/reject the submission.

This requires more programming skill than I currently possess, though. We may have to find an outside programmer to do this for us.

So yeah, realized a few days ago that there's no way in hell I'm going to have the time to do this. Sorry for getting your hopes up (or not).

still, even without colo's time, something like this would be great to see done. I myself lack both the time and the knowledge to do so, it would be great to see somebody take this on and I would be glad to help all I can.
