Thanks chaps: I have to admit this isn't my favourite drawing; but here is the sketch from Freidman's book to illustrate:
As you can see, the middle one is the best I can do, plus I had a nice drawing supplied by Colombamike, with details of radar fit etc. (so I'll check that again)
I could see a case for the Majestic conversion instead of the Girdle Ness; then there would be a double ended cruiser in service afterwards. But it is the overall design that I find odd. Notice that she has (still) the large sponson to accomodate the off-center bridge as an aircraft carrier, but here the superstructure is supposed to be centre-line. And the placement of the superstructure doesn't seem to make best use of available deck space. Even with two Seaslug launchers there should be some means of providing a helicopter facility beyond the mere spot on the stern. She also has two 901's, compared to the four i got onto the cut-down design above; but then, adding more of these only increases the top load. And, in contrast to the US designs this is still based on a high sided carrier hull, so the centre of gravity becomes a real problem when we add on more abobe the deck.
I will try tweaking the design, but this may be as far as it goes. BTW, did you notice my Seaslug triple launcher? Not yet 100%, but I've had to do the best I can from poor drawings and pictures. Also, I'll also need to factor in Blueslug, but again, no drawings, but I understand it was similar to Seaslug, but with a more blunt front.
