I can't decide on the torpedoes - whats the use of a 400mm asw torpedo launched from a deck or side mount over the ASW rocket launcher? The RL is faster when you have a firing solution - less risk for the sub to fire back or evade the weapon.

How good where ASW torpedoes in the 60s? range? speed? The torpedo and RL is a duelling/ close in weapon, the main ASW weapon are standoff types like a helicopterlaunced torpedo.

Until recently most of the ASW torpedoes still in use were either direct replacements for or improvements of designs that date back to that period (Mk 37, Mk 46, Tigerfish, Spearfish, etc). Of course they've had vast improvements since and all of these torpedoes are themselves being phased out now for Mk 54 and MU90.

Well, all the LW ASW torpedoes I know of have significantly longer ranges than any DC mortar I've heard of.
However, up until the eighties at least their performance in shallow waters were iffy at best, hence why the RN retained the Limbo for so long.

What is the realistic contact or firing range of a shiplaunched ASW torpedo? 5-6000m? A wireguided torpedo could be the weapon of choise between 1500-5000m? A ASROC type of weapon would be interesting in the open sea to gice the sub as short notice as possible.

The maximum range of the last versions of the Bofors 375mm ASW rockets are about 1600m

Sorry to keep on with this one, but I with respect I consider it relevant. The point I'm making is that you've created a Swedish superpower, with world-wide commitments, and the ships you've designed reflect that, not least this latest, not just comparable but larger that the British Leander class. Put bluntly the little Alouette just looks wrong here; and sure, the type was adapted into navy service as the photo shows on the Smaland; but that is a very simple arrangement, and to my way of thinking it would not have been much use outside the Baltic, and more likely used against Soviet intruder subs in coastal waters. The thought of landing that skid equiped Alouette on a heaving deck in the North Sea, it would be a nightmare. Rather than simply transferring one type from real-life into a completely different AU scenario, where it doesn't suit, why not have a decent helicopter to start with? If you're looking at the Lynx as a replacement why not have what it replaced - the Wasp; and I don't consider the Alouette comparable, the Wasp was fully navalised, and was a far more robust machine. Failing that, I'd go for the larger version (III) with the landing gear from the Wasp.

For what it's worth the RDN operated the Allouette III in the North Sea and the Arctic for twenty years before replacing them with the Lynx.

I wouldnt operate the seasprite if you are planning on switching to the Lynx and not the upgraded SH-2G but that justs just my opinion
