Yes some of my documents said SPG 62 while others said SPG 60, but thank you. I plan to give the frigates a final update in the near future because there is a slight difference between the first frigates and the last one!

The thing is, it isn't either of those. It isn't even a USN radar at all. :geek:

The kicker for me was when the Nansens were not mentioned in any of the Raytheon literature.

I'm going to take to try to find out what kind of radar that is.

possibly I will ask my stepfather, who worked with the frigate project. He was a radar expert in the navy (Graduated: electrical engineer). but I do not meet him before Christmas!

Found a possible nutcracker.

After the text to judge, so does it sounds like Fridtjof Nansen class is equipped with a Norwegian produced illuminator based on the Mk82 (AN/SPG-62) CW illuminator. with parts from different European suppliers. and that is what makes it look a little different.

· SPY-1F multi-function radar S-band,
