Casa Grande class dock landing ship
[ img ]

I might have missed a thing or two so please tell me if you spot something wrong.
Just for the record, I'm not planning on drawing any of the modifications of these ships, although I'd love to see them in SB. I can provide the layered .pdn file to anyone who requests it.

What directors are those? I see the old Mk.51 and some new contraption which I'm not sure of (immediately aft the forward 5"/38).

That's supposed to be a 5"/38 gun director. I used the Mk.52, which was discussed here. I might be wrong on this one so suggestions are very welcome.

OK -- in the coming week I am starting a project to draw and in some cases redraw all the small USN WW2 director systems. Their current iterations are sloppy and the result of me not having any good source material to work from.

In the meantime, anyone with good references of any of the USN WW2 light directors (Mk.51, 52, 56, 57, etc) should send them to me!

Thanks for making a ship class which served (even for 5 years only) in Hellenic Navy (real). This was the ex-HMS Oceanway, which was loaned to Hellenic Navy and then became the French L-646 Foundre. This mean that you will see a variant of these LPD serving with RHN AU.
